Consistent workouts paid off. I was selected into the school varsity track and field team, as the second fast 100-meter sprinter and No.3 seeded 100-meter relay runner. The season wasn’t especially fruitful for us, slightly regrettably, but what I cherished the most was the unbreakable bond and allyship formed with friends from South Africa, Burlington, and Nigeria and the continuous pursuit of personal fitness.
